Featuring some of the latest thinking in high performance amplifier design, the A19 uses components and techniques mormally found in Arcam's top of the range products. The amplifier's design and performance have been refined and tuned to an exquisite degree. This focus on sound quality has led to an intellegent power supply design that also enables the amplifier to offer a flexible upgrade path. The power section of the A19 is design to be able to supply two of Arcam's class-leading r-Series products in addition to its main duties. This allows the A19 to become a digital hub for a whole range of digital connection upgrades that includes both wireless Bluetooth® devices and USB sources.
While the world of music is increasingly a digital one, analogue sources are not forgotten. The continued popularity of vinyl has led Arcam to to equip the A19 with a new ultra-low noise moving magnet (MM) phono stage that allows the music enthusiast to enjoy their vinyl collection afresh. While the use of high performance headphones has grown dramatically of late, little effort has been made to improve the headphone sections of the amplifiers that drive them. The A19 addresses this by employing a completely new circuit that can deliver a level of sound quality that will thrill even the most demanding listener.
The A19 is built to the same very high standards as the company's other FMJ series products. Arcam engineers have chosen every critical component using careful measurement and years of design experience. These audiophile grade components are designed into a circuit layout configuration that has been carefully optimised for the very best performance. The A19's audio circuits are combined with an ultra-low noise power supply built around a muscular toroidal transformer. These state-of-the-art electronics are encased in a resonance damped chassis which exudes quality and perfectly matches the psound quality of this outstanding Arcam amplifier.
The A19 is designed in the UK and available in a discrete black finish.
The flagship Mercury V4i is an impressive floor standing loudspeaker capable of delivering life-like music dynamics and highly detailed top end articulation. Featuring two potent 165mm (6.5") mid/bass drivers, the V4i offers an authoritative performance with power and passion.
The Mercury V4i features the all-new magnesium-aluminium alloy dome Mercury Vi tweeter. This true Wideband tweeter extends treble to over 53kHz, giving a wide soundstage and more accurate articulation of instruments. The ultra-light Mercury mid/bass cones give the V4i a speed and delicacy rarely found in budget floor-standing designs. The new plinth assembly lends the design even greater stability than previous Mercury floorstanders, making bass notes tighter, punchier and more accurate.
Revised cabinet bracing, silver plated wiring and enhanced Differential Material Technology (DMT) damping on the HF capacitors lead to a greater refinement across the audio-band and an even more involving performance. The Mercury V4i is an exceptional two channel stereo loudspeaker for larger rooms, where its bass authority is complimented by the detail and accuracy of the mid-range and high frequencies.
Three amplifiers symbolize the success of Unison Research: the Simply Two, the Triode 20 and the legendary Absolute. On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the birth of Unison Research, we pay homage to these historic devices by offering the Simply Two and the Absolute in a limited and numbered “Anniversary” edition. We’ve also decided to offer a completely new version of the Triode 20 and named it, quite appropriately, the Triode 25.
The Triode 25, like its predecessor, is a push-pull amplifier that utilizes EL34 tubes in the output stage. The push-pull circuit includes a final stage with two power tubes intended for the amplification of the positive half-waves, respectively, and of the negative half-waves of the audio signal. The task of properly reconstructing the audio signal is then assigned to the output transformer which, thanks to its symmetrical structure, allows for a highly linear signal. Here are some of the more important and significant benefits of a push-pull structure in this type of amplifier design:
- Higher output power
- Higher efficiency and therefore less heat generated, with positive effects on the durability of the output tubes as well as a significant savings in energy costs
- No static polarization of the output transformer, resulting in better performance of this section
To ensure high quality sound in an amplifier with a push-pull configuration, however, it is essential that all individual amplification stages, especially the two semi-output amplifiers, are carefully designed and constructed to prevent the formation of dangerous and compromising odd-order harmonic distortion. This is even truer for the output transformer.
The new Triode amplifier 25 has experienced a long and painstaking design and testing period despite the considerable experience already gained in the construction of its predecessor, the Triode 20. The Triode 25 can operate in two modes: triode and pentode. The latter is capable of delivering a maximum power output of over 45 watts per channel with a load of 6 ohms with harmonic distortion extremely contained across the entire audio band.
Conveying all the power and musical articulation of the new Gold Reference Dual Concentric driver yet housed in a more compact 100 litre cabinet, Turnberry GR brings Prestige performance to smaller rooms. The 250 mm (10.00”) Gold Reference Dual, unique to the Turnberry GR, uses a new paper pulp cone material with HE twin roll fabric surround and 1.3 in aluminium-magnesium alloy dome tweeter with Tulip WaveGuide. The low frequency cone is fitted with a new 50 mm (2.00”) edge wound voice coil. This latest evolution of the 250 mm (10.00”) Dual brings an even more thrilling and dynamic performance than its well-regarded predecessor.
The Stirling GR cabinet is hand built from the finest plywood using traditional joinery methods to ensure that attention to detail and unique styling go hand in hand. A distributed port design for exemplary LF response from the 85 litre enclosure, the cabinet is finished in Prestige oiled real walnut wood veneer and complimented with solid walnut trim and edging, machined metal trim and adjustable HF power.
Capable of handling peak input power of up to 340 watts and boasting prodigious 91 dB efficiency, the Stirling has the power and authority of much larger and more affluent loudspeakers. It is detailed, dynamic and outstandingly articulate sound with all the musical cohesion inherent with the Dual Concentric driver. Stirling GR offers the bespoke cabinetry and remarkable performance of Tannoy’s Prestige series, yet costs no more than a typical mass produced loudspeaker.
The UDP411 embraces movie and music playback, offering outstanding performance in both disciplines. Unlike most BluRay machines music from SACDs and CDs is delivered with outstanding quality while movie performance with either 2D or 3D films is to the very highest standards currently available. Using Arcam’s unique and hard won engineering expertise the UDP411 delivers a truly emotional portrayal of your favourite discs, delivering blockbuster experiences straight to your arm chair.
Few specialist manufactures have ever stepped up to the plate where development of video playback is concerned. The technological know-how required for the successful design of high performance video sources is vast. With more than ten years of digital video experience, not to mention global recognition of its efforts, Arcam is proud to announce the arrival of it’s newest disc player, the UDP411.

The UDP411 uses a very simple, almost direct video path from the disc to its ultra-high precision outputs. This short path approach allows pictures to be presented without unintentional artefacts and delivers the kind of pristine picture quality that will truly captivate any viewer. Using broadcast quality digital video clocks during processing means the resulting picture quality is simply stunning.
To ensure the UDP411’s music performance meets the same “reference” standards the class leading TI/Burr Brown PCM1794 digital to analogue converter (DAC) is used. This device, coupled with a linear phase Bessel output filter and high precision re-clocking system results in audio quality comparable to a dedicated audiophile CD player. Even the UDP411’s power supply has been specially designed for outright performance. Discreet sub-regulated power supplies on the drive, audio and DAC boards deliver significant benefits to the overall performance of each element and thus allow each section to work truly independently and without interference.
The CDS27 offers outstanding performance from all forms of compatible audio media. Music from SACDs and CDs and network is delivered with outstanding quality to the very highest standards currently available. Using Arcam’s unique and hard won engineering expertise the CDS27 delivers a truly exceptional performance, regardless of the media used.
